Marine Capstan, M-2000 Capstan Marine Capstan Drawing, M-2000 Capstan
  • CAPSTAN DESIGN: innovative designs ---- pulling for the future
    • Highly efficient, resulting in more pull for equal or less horsepower
    • Capable of two times the running load without stalling
    • Utilize an integral gear motor which makes for a compact design
    • Only the motor shaft turns at high speed, resulting in vibration free operation
    • Long life cycle with minimum maintenance
    • High quality components

  • CAPSTAN HEADS: Our capstan heads are of cast steel and come in several sizes.
    •   9" diameter head, will handle seven wraps of 1.25" diameter rope
    • 12" diameter head, will handle seven wraps of 1.5" diameter rope
    • 15" diameter head, will handle seven wraps of 2" diameter rope
We suggest using Polyester Double Braided Rope. The more wraps of rope on the head the easier it will be for the operator to handle the load. Seven wraps should make it easy to handle the heaviest loads.

  • GEARING:
    • Higher overload capacity than conventional reducers.
    • 85-90% efficient, utilizing cycloidal and spiral bevel gearing, compared to worm and spur gear efficiencies of 55-65
    • Double output seals
    • Exceptional reliability over long life

  • MOTOR/BRAKE:
    • Electrical: 208, 230/460 Volt AC, 3 Phase, 60 Hertz, 1800 RPM
    • NEMA Design "B", continuous duty, TEFC, designed for outdoor wash down duty
    • Motor Brakes - spring set/electric release

  • CONTROLS (Optional):
    •   Various control packages available to suit your application and budget

  • CAPSTAN OPTIONS:
    • A variety of options are available to upgrade your M-2000 Capstan including: marine duty paint system ~ motor covers ~ explosion proof motors & controls 380 V/3 Ph/50 Hz and 575V/3 Ph/60 Hz electrical ~ reversing control packages ~ bedplates designed to match existing foundations

  • SAFETY: DO NOT STAND IN LINE WITH THE ROPE. NO LESS THAN THREE WRAPS OF ROPE SHOULD BE MAINTAINED ON THE CAPSTAN HEAD AT ALL TIMES. KEEP HANDS AND FINGERS CLEAR OF ROPE AS IT APPROACHES THE CAPSTAN HEAD. CAPSTAN UNITS ARE NOT TO BE USED TO LIFT, LOWER, OR MOVE PERSONNEL.
